Bestiary and Pets

The Bestiary is a record of every monster in the world that fills in as you kill them. Completing zones and territories pays out in Bestiary Coin , and that currency is what you then spend at the Beast Manager: its shop and, above all, evolving your pets.

The two systems are really one, and it helps to read them that way: the bestiary is the work, the pets are the reward.

The whole system — your progress, the rewards and the in-game guide — opens from the Community Board (alt+b), on the Atlas tab, option “Bestiary”.

The world is split into three levels, and each one pays out when completed:

Territory → Zone → Monster.

The main screen lists the territories with their level range, how many zones each one has and the percentage completed.

At the very top are the three counters that matter: how many monsters you have discovered out of 968, how many zones you have completed out of 92, and your total kills.

Going into a territory shows its zones, each with its level range and how many monsters it holds.

And inside each zone, the monster list. The ones you have not discovered yet show up as ???: neither the name nor the level until you kill one.

Clicking one you have already discovered shows its drops, its location and your kills.

That hiding is not only in the panel: it happens in the world too. A monster you have never killed shows up with its name covered until you discover it.

Zone and territory rewards land on their own when you kill the last monster you were missing. The full-bestiary one is claimed by hand from the banner on the Community Board home, with the Claim Final Reward button.

One detail for groups: discovery is shared with the party within a radius of 1500, so sweeping a zone between several people counts for everyone.

Beast Manager Cooper's menu with the bestiary and pet options

Its menu holds both halves of the system. At the top, the bestiary side — including “Tell me about the Bestiary”, which is the full in-game explanation, the same one behind the ? button in the panel. At the bottom, the pet side: buying them, evolving them, renaming them and opening the shop.

This is where the Bestiary Coin get spent, across six categories:

Hunter Talismans, Skill Points Scrolls, and everything for pets: consumables, jewels, armor and weapons.

You buy and summon them with their collar, which is the item that holds them: lose it and you lose the pet. They all level up alongside you and evolve at the Beast Manager.

Three of them, and each one helps in a different way:

All three evolve into their Improved version from level 55. The instrument transforms along with the pet — same icon, updated name — and the categories of support stay the same, but with better numbers and less waiting between uses.

This is the long chain, and the only one that ends in a mount:

It is done at the Beast Manager, with the pet summoned. The experience carries over to the new form and any items it was wearing go back to your inventory.
