Certified Skills (NPC Lorenzo)

Certified skills are a separate group that opens up when you hit level 80 and finishes filling in at 86. They have nothing to do with subclass certifications: different skills, different currency, different NPC.

It is all handled through Lorenzo, the Spellbook Trader in Aden. His dialogue holds the system’s two options: “Learn Certified Skills” to learn them and “Reset Certified Skills” to start over.

There are two groups, and they work differently.

The ones you raise with Crystal of Soul

Eleven passive skills, each with 5 levels. They are paid for with Crystal of Soul , and nothing else is needed.

Skill	Cost per level (1 → 5)
Courage Mastery	3 · 10 · 15 · 30 · 45
Honor Recover	3 · 10 · 15 · 30 · 45
War Paint	3 · 10 · 15 · 30 · 45
Didactics	1 · 3 · 5 · 10 · 15
Sword Resist	1 · 3 · 5 · 10 · 15
Blunt Resistance	1 · 3 · 5 · 10 · 15
Polearm Resist	1 · 3 · 5 · 10 · 15
Fist Resist	1 · 3 · 5 · 10 · 15
Dagger Resist	1 · 3 · 5 · 10 · 15
Bow Resist	1 · 3 · 5 · 10 · 15
Dual Weapon Resist	1 · 3 · 5 · 10 · 15

The seven Resist skills cover one weapon type each: sword, blunt, spear, fists, dagger, bow and dual.

Where the Crystal of Soul come from

From the Hero’s Path missions, which complete themselves as you level. One per level, from 80 to 86:

Level	80	81	82	83	84	85	86
	5	10	15	20	40	60	160

Reaching 86 gets you 310 in total, and more than half of that only arrives with the last one.

It is not enough for everything, and that is the point

Taking all eleven skills to level 5 costs 581 Crystal of Soul. The 310 the full progression gives you gets you a little past halfway.

So you have to choose: a few skills maxed or many at a low level. The three expensive ones — Courage Mastery, Honor Recover and War Paint — cost 103 each; Didactics and the seven Resist skills, 34.

The ones that ask for a Codex

Six active skills, single level, learned from level 80:

Disarm Armor Breaker Spell Break Warp Flash Berserker Mode

Each one asks for its own Codex, bought from Lorenzo. And the Codex is not paid for in adena alone: you need to gather the four Forgotten Codex.

Forgotten Codex - Chapter 1 Forgotten Codex - Chapter 2 Forgotten Codex - Chapter 3 Forgotten Codex - Chapter 4

All four arrive together with the level 86 mission. With those in hand, Lorenzo trades the four Chapters + 10,000,000 adena for the Codex of whichever skill you pick — one at a time.

There are also two loose shortcuts for getting Chapters one by one: Chapter 1 for 100 Codex Piece, and Chapter 2 for 50 Codex Fragment + 3,000,000 adena.

Resetting

Lorenzo’s Reset Certified Skills option costs 10.000.000 Adena and puts the system back to the start:

• Wipes every certified skill you learned.
• Wipes any unused Codex in your inventory.
• Resets the missions that hand out the items, so you can take them again. You have to relog to see them again.

It is useful when you have done a Switch Main Class and want different skills, when you buy a character and do not like what the previous owner picked, or simply to move from a PvE setup to a PvP one.

Note

You cannot reset a single skill: the reset is all or nothing.
