PK System

Killing has a price. Here is everything you need to know before going red.

Killing a player who was not fighting (white, no purple flag) leaves two different marks, and it pays not to mix them up: karma, which is temporary, and the PK counter, which stays.

KarmaPK counter
What it isThe chaotic state: it turns your name redA number that stays on your character
Why it mattersIt brings restrictions while you have itIt defines how much you risk when dying
How it is cleanedBy killing monsters, or by dyingBy using PK scrolls

Both can be brought down to zero. What changes is the path: karma goes down by playing, the PK counter only with the scrolls.

Two characters fighting, one with a red name from carrying karma
You spot a red from a distance: karma turns their name that colour.

Karma is cleaned by killing mobs. The math is calibrated against the real XP of the server’s mobs. Quick rule: mobs of your own level ≈ your level (with a floor of 40):

Your levelMobs to clean your 1st PK
1 – 40≈ 40 mobs
50≈ 50 mobs
60≈ 60 mobs
70≈ 70 mobs
80+≈ 80 mobs

And beware: each new PK loads more karma than the previous one:

PK numberKarma it loadsMobs to clean it (level ≤40)
1st× 1≈ 40
2nd× 1.5≈ 60
3rd× 2≈ 80
5th× 3≈ 120
10th× 5.5≈ 220

Both things multiply:

  • A level 30 chaining 3 PKs: 40 + 60 + 80 = ≈ 180 mobs to get back to white.
  • A level 60 chaining 3 PKs: 60 + 90 + 120 = ≈ 270 mobs.
  • A level 80 going for his 5th PK in a row: that PK alone costs ≈ 240 mobs.

You still gain the mobs’ XP as usual: karma drops alongside what you hunt.

Every time you die you lose 25% of the karma you have. Being a percentage, the more karma you carry the more it takes off at once. And if that leaves it below 20, it is cleaned completely and you turn white again.

Dying lowers karma, but does not touch the PK counter.

If you get killed while red, you can drop gear and items. The chance depends on your PK counter:

PKsDrop chanceWeaponArmorInventory
0 – 1You drop no items———
2 – 420%2.5%22.5%75%
5 – 740%5%25%70%
8 – 1060%7.5%27.5%65%
11+70%10%30%60%

How the roll works: first the drop chance rolls; if it triggers, each of your belongings rolls its own chance per category. With 8+ PKs the hit gets serious against equipped gear, not just the bag.

A red character dead with the dropped items on the ground and the death window
What you dropped stays on the ground, in plain sight. The death window lists it under Lost items.

The PK counter only goes down with scrolls, and all of them count toward the same weekly limit.

Scroll: PK (Mid-grade)

This is the main scroll: it cleans up to 3 PK at once. It can be used even while red, but only standing inside Floran. Where to buy it and at what price:

DóndePrecio
Miscelaneos Shop 10 Ashenvale Coins
Event Shop - Miscelaneos 50 Event Coins

Amended Scroll

Section titled “”

It drops in the Clan Arena. It cleans 1 PK and is also used only in Floran. It counts toward the weekly limit like any other.

Scrolls clean at most 5 PK per week (7 days counted from your first cleaning). It does not matter which scroll you use: both count against the same quota.

If a scroll has less quota left than what it cleans, it is spent anyway and cleans only what remains. Example: you have 8 PK and use two Mid-grades (together or apart): the first removes 3 (you are at 5), the second removes only 2 (you are at 3) because the weekly quota ran out. The remaining 3 PK can only be cleaned once the week expires, with new scrolls.

The game tells you in chat, in orange, exactly where you stand:

You Cleaned 3 PK. The PK count is now 27.
You can clean 2 more PK this week (max 5).

When you reach the limit:

You Cleaned 2 PK. The PK count is now 25.
Drop chance: 40% (Weapon 5% / Armor 25% / Inventory 70%)
Scrolls available again: 30/08/26 14:35

If you have no quota left, the scroll is not spent:

Weekly PK cleaning limit reached.
The PK count is 25.
Drop chance: 40% (Weapon 5% / Armor 25% / Inventory 70%)
Scrolls available again: 30/08/26 14:35

Besides the drop, dying has two costs:

  • Karma: on death you lose 25% of your current karma (and if very little remains, it clears completely). Hunting is still the faster way to clean it.
  • XP: you lose 4% of the level’s XP; from level 80 it is 2% and from 84, 1%. It is the same percentage as any PvP death (no XP is lost in peace zones; in clan war a quarter is lost). Premium accounts lose no XP on death, except when killed by another player while unflagged — red or white makes no difference (fighting with the purple flag or in clan war, the protection applies).

Being red is not just the drop. While you have karma, the easy ways out are closed:

✕ Cannot✓ Can
Teleport to towns or peace zones (gatekeeper, BBS or marks)Teleport to hunting zones and destinations outside peace zones
Use Blessed Scroll of Escape or instant escapesUse the regular Scroll of Escape (long, interruptible cast)
Be summoned by other players (Word of Invitation, Chant of Gate)Enter Floran and clean up there with PK scrolls

A red character in Floran Village, with the map showing the area
Floran Village is the red’s refuge: you can go in, use the NPCs and clean up there with the scrolls.

When dying while red, you respawn at the chaotic resurrection point, not in town.

Kill if you want. But know what the way back costs.
